Russian dictator Vladimir Putin hopes that the West will get tired of supporting Ukraine. This is the basis of his confidence that Russia will eventually win the war.

Putin also emphasizes that Russia will only be satisfied with Ukraine's fulfillment of Russian ultimatums and giving up part of its territory taking into account the "realities on the battlefield." This is stated in the analytical material of the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

According to analysts, Putin believes that he sees signs of Western "Ukraine fatigue" and sees them as an opportunity to continue aggression and further Russian victory. Thus, during a press conference in Kazan after the BRICS summit on October 25, he said that Russia plans to intensify its efforts, not paying attention to the "exhaustion" of its opponents or the change in Western rhetoric.

Thus, when the Russian dictator was asked about the impact of Western assistance to Ukraine on the situation on the battlefield, he said that Russia should continue to be active in Ukraine and added that Russia should not take into account the "enemy's fatigue."

According to Putin, the West is "beginning to realistically assess  the situation around Ukraine and, as the dictator sees it, is "change its rhetoric" about the need for Russia's strategic defeat. For these changes, the dictator added, he can "only praise" the Western countries.

At the same time, the Russian dictator said that Russia seeks to end the war on its own terms, which will reflect the "realities on the battlefield." Putin's goal remains unchanged: he wants Ukraine's surrender, the destruction of Ukrainian statehood and the army.

The ISW believes that Putin's strategy is based on the assumption that the West will sooner or later stop supporting Ukraine, which will allow Russia to win. However, according to analysts, these calculations may play a cruel joke on Russia, as the West's refusal to support Ukraine remains unlikely.

Earlier, ISW said that Russia could launch an information operation against Ukraine to justify the involvement of DPRK troops. Currently, Putin, high-ranking Russian officials and the DPRK say that under the strategic partnership agreement, the troops of one country can be used in case of aggression against the other. Therefore, according to analysts, the Kremlin is planning to present Ukraine, which is the victim of a Russian attack, as an "aggressor."
