Powerful enemy group is active: Ukrainian Armed Forces report on fighting for Bakhmut

About 50,000 Russian occupants are currently operating in the Bakhmut sector (Donetsk region). There are no mercenaries of the private military company Wagner among them, but units of other PMCs have been spotted.
This was reported by the spokesperson for the Eastern Group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Serhiy Cherevaty, on the air of the United National TV Marathon "United News". The enemy is doing its best to retain the territories it has temporarily seized.
"As of today, there are no Wagner mercenaries in the Bakhmut sector. There is a powerful enemy group there - up to 50,000 troops, more than 300 tanks, over 330 artillery systems and 140 multiple rocket launchers," the military said.
According to him, offensive operations are being conducted by paratroopers and infantry units of the Russian Armed Forces, the BARS (Special Army Combat Reserve) group, as well as units of small private military companies.
Cherevaty believes that the attempted so-called military coup in Russia, organised by Wagner Group financier Yevhen Prigozhin, had a positive impact on Ukraine.
"No one wants to share failures, only victories... The quarrels between their units began against the backdrop of the failures that happened to them in Ukraine," said a representative of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
