Occupiers hit Kharkiv with S-300 missiles; there are wounded
On September 16, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv with S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems. At least five civilians were injured as a result.
This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Synehubov. The condition of the victims is not serious, there is no threat to their lives, and doctors provided them with the necessary assistance.
"The occupants launched 5 S-300 missiles at the Kholodnohirsky district of Kharkiv. According to preliminary information from medics, 5 civilians were wounded, their condition is light and moderate and their lives are not in danger. Emergency services are eliminating the consequences of the attack," the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration sad.
He reported about the explosions in Kharkiv at 11:10 a.m.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov also confirmed the attack.
"We can hear the sounds of explosions in Kharkiv. I urge everyone to be careful and stay in shelters," the mayor said.
Later, Synehubov clarified that the occupiers struck the regional center at least four times.
"The occupants struck at the city of Kharkiv at least four times. Emergency services have arrived at the sites of hits. Stay in the shelters until the air raid alarm goes off!" he wrote.
According to preliminary data, the missiles were launched from the Russian city of Belgorod. Video launches have appeared in Belgorod channels. Judging by the voiceover in one of the videos, Russians are very happy when a terrorist state attacks Ukraine.
"The enemy has once again struck the Kharkiv region from Belgorod with the help of S-300 air defense systems. Information on possible damage and casualties is being established," said Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk (Marcel).
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the air alert in the Kharkiv region at 11.11 a.m.
A few minutes later, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Poltava, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia and Odesa regions also became "red". A ballistic threat was announced in these regions.
At about 11:50 a.m., the alarms began to sound in the regions.
Earlier, the Air Force assessed Russia's missile stockpile and the risks to Ukraine this fall. The defenders of the Ukrainian sky believe that the aggressor state will have fewer missiles than a year ago by the fall of 2023. However, the enemy's attacks on Ukraine will continue, in particular, with the use of Iranian-made Shahed kamikaze drones.
