Occupiers dropped aerial bombs on the mines of Toretsk: there are dead and wounded

On December 21, 2023, at noon, the Russian army carried out two air strikes on the city of Toretsk. The occupiers' attack killed three people and wounded five others.

This information was released by the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office. An investigation has been launched into the murder. Law enforcement is also currently establishing the type of munitions used by the invaders.

The occupiers attacked civilian infrastructure facilities, which resulted in the deaths of three men aged 41, 42, and 45 from their injuries. Five other employees of two enterprises sustained injuries of varying severity. The victims, aged 33 to 54, were hospitalized for medical care.

Prosecutors are taking all possible measures to document the war crimes committed by the Russian Federation against civilians.

Under the procedural supervision of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was initiated in the framework of criminal proceedings on the facts of violation of the laws and norms of war (Article 438, part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Ukraine's Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko also noted that the enemy attacked Toretsk mines.

"Two bombs hit the territory of one of the mines in Toretsk. One person was killed and two others were injured. The enterprise is without electricity. There were 32 miners underground, they have been brought to the surface. Two more bombs hit the territory of another mine. Two people were killed and three were injured. The strikes damaged administrative buildings and equipment," Klymenko said.

Earlier it was reported that Russia shelled a Ukrainian thermal power plant. On December 21, a power unit at a thermal power plant in Donetsk Oblast was shut down due to Russian shelling. At the same time, there is no shortage of electricity in the country's unified energy system, and no scheduled blackouts are applied in any region.

As a reminder, the enemy currently has almost 1,000 high-precision long-range missiles. Moreover, Russia continues to produce them.
