Russian Federation strikes at residential area in the Zhytomyr region

During a massive air attack on Ukraine on the night of June 9, the terrorist state of Russia launched a missile strike on the Zhytomyr region. The defenders shot down the enemy target, while the fall of debris in the residential area of the Zvyagel community caused destruction and casualties.

It is known that one person was killed and three were injured. This was reported by the Zvyagel City Council on Facebook, as well as the Regional Military Administration (to view the photo, scroll to the end).

"As a result of another enemy missile attack on the night of 9 June, a private sector residential area in our community was hit," the post reads.

According to the mayor of Zvyagel (formerly Novohrad-Volynskyi - Ed.), Mykola Borovets, there are currently six destroyed houses and dozens of damaged ones.

"Unfortunately, one person was killed, and there are also wounded, who are being provided with all necessary assistance," he said.

The mayor added that the community leadership and emergency services are working at the site of the strike. Local residents were asked not to ignore the air raid alerts.

 

Later, the head of the Zhytomyr Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Bunechko, clarified that, according to preliminary data, air defence forces shot down one missile during an air raid in Zhytomyr region at night.

"As a result of the falling debris in Zvyagel, one residential building was destroyed and 12 were damaged. One person died and three were injured," he said.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, during the Russian air attack on Ukraine on the night of May 28, a hit was confirmed in Zhytomyr - with destruction but no casualties. Common areas of apartment buildings, educational and healthcare facilities were hit.
