Occupants secretly launched a railroad from Rostov to Mariupol: this may affect logistics at the front

The Russians secretly launched the completed railroad connecting the temporarily occupied Mariupol with Russian Rostov-on-Don and passing through Hranitne/Malovodne. At railway stations in the occupied part of Donetsk region, Ukrainian resistance activists noticed diesel locomotives and cars labeled "Russian Railways".

Given the fact that freight cars with unknown contents have already started running on the railroad illegally built by the occupiers, it is possible that the Russians have managed to significantly improve military logistics to an extent they could not have imagined when only the Crimean Bridge connected Russia to the occupied territories. Petro Andriushchenko, an advisor to the mayor of Mariupol, reported on the alarming trends.

He wrote about the "bad news" that the Russians have launched a completed railroad from Rostov-on-Don to Mariupol via Hranitne/Malovodne. The occupiers launched the railway without any fanfare, and it was discovered through monitoring and recording of traffic through key railway stations since Wednesday, July 31.

In particular, Andriushchenko emphasized, at the Aslanovo station, resistance activists noticed four mainline diesel locomotives, painted in the colors of the Russian Railways, with attached freight cars. The cars are filled and partially covered, but the Ukrainian guerrillas have not yet been able to determine what they are carrying or what route they are running.

At Kalchik station, one mainline diesel locomotive in Russian Railways colors was spotted.

At Sartana station, seven passenger cars in Russian Railways colors with the words "Yekaterinburg" were spotted. Andriushchenko added that there were no passengers in these cars, under the guise of civilian transportation, the occupiers were conducting a test run on the newly built railway.

"All of this, as well as certain details that I have no right to disclose for security reasons of sources and insiders, point to a single fact. Silently and secretly, without announcements and red ribbons, the railroad has been launched. This can dramatically change the situation at the front by improving the logistics of the Ukrainians. And don't talk about an "alternative to the Crimean bridge". This is a mistake. This is an independent autonomous branch, which currently has more capacity and power than the Crimean bridge," Andriushchenko said.

He added that it took the Russians about 13 months to build the railroad. In the winter, the Defense Forces managed to slow down the work for two months with strikes, and the invaders lost another month due to a sabotage by Ukrainian partisans in the Kalchytsia quarry.

He also thanked the Ukrainians in occupation who, risking their own lives, passed on information about the occupiers' plan and the progress of the construction of this railroad.

"You are the best in the world," the advisor to the mayor of Mariupol emphasized.

Earlier, it became known that occupied Mariupol is being "rebuilt" by a company from the orbit of the grandson of former Russian Prosecutor General Yuriy Chaika.

The company is repairing entrances, replacing switchboards, glazing, etc., but the local population is not satisfied with the quality of the work.
