The situation in the Bakhmut sector remains difficult. The enemy continues to exert pressure along the entire front line and is trying to find weaknesses in the Ukrainian defense.

Recently, Russian troops have reduced the number of "meat assaults". This was stated by Petro Kuzyk, commander of the 3rd Svoboda Battalion of the Fourth Rubizh Operational Brigade of the National Guard, during the telethon.

According to him, the Russian occupiers are using all types of weapons during the offensive. In particular, the invaders support their active actions with the help of aviation.

"In general, the situation is not easy. Currently, they are trying to push along the line. Traditionally, their tactics are unchanged, they are looking for weaknesses where they can intervene and further develop their success. They are using all types of weapons – aviation, artillery, tanks, armored vehicles," said the Ukrainian defender.

He added that the number of meat assaults has decreased recently. In turn, Ukrainian servicemen inflict huge losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy. The commander of the 3rd Svoboda battalion emphasized that the defenders need more ammunition to destroy the enemy.

"The number of outright "meat assaults" has decreased. They bring troops in armored vehicles, try to throw them into trenches, and we destroy them. I wish we had more ammunition. Otherwise, we are holding our ground," the soldier said.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used a robot to blow up a bridge in Ivanivske near Bakhmut, Donetsk region. The enemy could have used it to move equipment and infantry, and Ukrainian defenders thus complicated the occupiers' offensive.

Earlier it was reported that the Bakhmut direction remains one of the hottest. Over April 3, Ukrainian defenders repelled 14 attacks there – in the areas of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region; Spirne, Andriivka, southeast of Vyyimka and Klishchiyivka, Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to improve the tactical situation.
