Occupants dropped bombs on Avdiivka Coke: fire broke out and black smoke rose. Video
The troops of the aggressor country Russia attacked Avdiivka Coke Plant. The enemy dropped aircraft bombs on the territory of the plant, located in Avdiivka, Donetsk Oblast.
Musa Magomedov, the head of the parliamentary subcommittee on industrial policy of the Economic Development Committee, said on September 28 in a Telegram message. He showed a video of the aftermath of the shelling (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).
Magomedov was outraged that Russian criminals continue to destroy Donbas industry.
"As soon as these monsters struck Avdiivka Coke with air bombs, the scrubbers of the recovery shop are burning," said the member of the Verkhovna Rada. We would like to add that scrubbers usually refer to a group of devices for controlling air pollution and cleaning gases.
On the afternoon of September 29, the official representative office of Metinvest Group in Avdiivka, which owns the plant, reported that the fire was partially contained only on Friday morning. Now the environmental situation at Avdiivka Coke may deteriorate.
"Due to the chemical composition of the combustion products, another terrorist act by the Russians may affect the environmental situation in the region. It is not yet possible to assess the environmental impact due to massive enemy attacks," the statement said.
The company added that the staff of Avdiivka Coke continues to be at the site and is doing everything to protect the public and preserve the plant.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the city of Avdiivka is under semi-siege. On September 11, former Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar said that our soldiers had liberated part of the village of Opytne near Avdiivka.
