Russian troops carried out air strikes with two anti-aircraft gunships on an industrial facility in the city of Sumy. Bilopillia also came under fire, killing two women and injuring several others.
According to Suspilne, citing sources, Bilopillia was hit by various types of weapons on the afternoon of April 26, killing a woman and injuring several others. A fire broke out in the town, said Yuriy Zarko, head of the Bilopil community.
According to him, the primary health care center was damaged, and windows and doors in nearby residential buildings were smashed.
Later, Yuriy Zarko reported the second woman killed . The first died on the spot, the second died in an ambulance on the way to the hospital.
In addition, as of 11:29 a.m., the Sumy Military District reported that the enemy had launched an air strike on an industrial facility in Sumy, using two KABs.
"All necessary services are working at the site. The consequences of the attack are being clarified," the regional administration said in a statement.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 10:58 a.m. reported the launch of guided aerial bombs in Sumy region. Explosions were reported in the city.
The Sumy City Council reported that at night and in the morning of April 26, the enemy fired five times at the border areas, and settlements of Sumy region. 41 explosions were recorded. Krasnopilska, Seredyno-Budska, and Znob-Novgorodska communities were shelled.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the day before, at about two o'clock in the afternoon, the Russian military dropped unexploded ordnance on the infrastructure of Sumy. Previously, a Su-34 fighter-bomber from the airspace of the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation "worked out" the city.
Sumy came under attack on Wednesday evening, April 24. The enemy fired missiles at the suburbs of the regional center, and there were no reports of casualties.
