Occupants attacked a market in the center of Kherson: six people were killed and others injured. Video

On the morning of October 1, Russian occupation forces fired another attack on the central part of Kherson. According to preliminary information, civilians were killed and wounded as a result of this brutal attack.

The exact number of casualties is being clarified. This was reported by the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

Rescue services are working at the scene to help the victims and eliminate the consequences of the shelling.

"In the morning the occupants attacked the central part of Kherson. Unfortunately, there are dead and wounded. More detailed information is being clarified," the statement said.

Local authorities are urging all residents to be careful and stay in safe places, as the situation remains tense and the threat of new attacks is high.

"Please stay in safe places! Take care of yourself!" Prokudin added.

He specified that the occupants attacked a market in the center of Kherson. The outlets where Kherson residents were buying or selling products in the morning came under attack.

At least eight people are known to have been injured. Preliminary, five people were killed and three others were injured.

The victims were taken to a medical facility. They are under medical supervision.

The head of Kherson regional council Oleksandr Samoilenko clarified that the enemy shell hit the building of a pharmacy where people were staying.

According to prosecutors, seven civilians were killed in the attack.

As of 11:00 it became known that six citizens were killed in the shelling of Kherson city center. Doctors managed to stabilize the seventh victim, who was presumed dead, but his condition remains extremely serious.

Six civilians are known to have sustained injuries of varying severity, five of whom were hospitalized.

According to the investigation, on October 1, 2024, at about 9:00, Russian troops allegedly struck the center of Kherson with cannon artillery.

Under the procedural supervision of the Kherson District Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was initiated in criminal proceedings over violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The police said the dead included four men and two women.

"The insidious attack at a time when our entire country bowed its heads in mourning and observed a minute of silence to honor the memory of the fallen defenders once again demonstrated the cowardice of our enemy," they said.

The head of Kherson city administration Roman Mrochko clarified that four wounded as a result of the shelling of the market in the central district of Kherson were hospitalized. These are women aged 68, 65 and 33 and a 65-year-old man.

All of them have blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. They were on the street at the time of the enemy attack.

As of this hour, the bodies of the three victims have been delivered to the Bureau of Forensic Medicine.

As a reminder, on the morning of September 30, the Russian occupation forces attacked Kherson twice with drones and shelled the village of Velyka Oleksandrivka. Six civilians were injured, all of them were provided with the necessary medical care.

In the morning of the previous day, September 29, Russian occupants attacked public transport and civilians in Kherson. In particular, the war criminals dropped explosives from a drone on a shuttle bus, smashing the windows, but no one was injured. A 61-year-old woman was injured in the same hostile attack in the Dniprovsky district of the city.

On the same day, war criminals shelled the villages of Bilozerka and Mykilske in Kherson region, injuring two people.
