OC South explained how one "Shahed" could destroy an entire entrance of a house in Odesa

Russian attack drone destroyed a high-rise building in Odesa

The warhead of the kamikaze drone used by the Russians to hit a multi-story building in Odesa could have been modernized. This factor may explain the significant destruction of the entire entrance.

However, final conclusions can only be drawn after the conclusion of experts and law enforcement agencies. This was reported by Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, during the telethon.

According to her, the remains of the drone and the nature of the destruction of the high-rise building are being studied. At the same time, search and rescue operations continue, so experts may find additional parts of the UAV.

"Experts are working to assess what happened - the type of hit, the remains of the drone and the type of damage. In addition, the search and rescue operation is still ongoing. While dismantling the rubble, it is possible that some more parts of the barrage munition will be found," said Humeniuk.

She also does not rule out the possibility that the drone could have had a reinforced combat unit. The spokesperson for the "South" military command emphasized that Russian terrorists are constantly working to improve their weapons.

"We have already seen modifications of missiles, they are trying to adjust them to their plans. They use air bombs, which is also a certain modification. Therefore, we understand that changes in the weapons the enemy will use continue," said Humeniuk.

In a comment to journalists, the spokeswoman for the South military command added that the enemy has recently been trying to launch drones at very low altitudes. This to a certain extent moves the UAVs away from air defense systems and makes them harder to detect. She also said that in addition to the warhead, Russians are modifying the drones' engines.
