Now equipped with Grad systems: SSU Sea Baby drones give occupants a "bavovna" on Kinburn Spit

Sea Baby marine drones have been technologically improved

The Sea Baby maritime drones of the Security Service of Ukraine, for which Ukrainians raised funds through the UNITED 24 platform, are now equipped with Grad systems. Recently, they have effectively worked from the sea on Russian positions on the Kinburn Spit.

OBOZ.UA learned about this from its own sources. The operation was jointly conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Navy.

"Our Sea Baby is not just a drone, but a multifunctional platform that is constantly being improved. And today we can confirm that they are equipped with a multiple launch rocket system, and this technological solution is already showing powerful results," the source said.

Earlier, SSU spokesperson Artem Dekhtyarenko said that SSU Sea Baby surface drones were modernized in 2024. The new version is more deadly than the previous ones. In particular, the drones can carry almost a ton of explosives and operate at a distance of about 1000 kilometers.

As of mid-April, the creators of the new Sea Baby-2024 continued a full cycle of testing of the modernized drones.

The project was made possible, in part, thanks to a large-scale volunteer fundraiser through the United24 platform. Almost 300 million hryvnias were donated in record time. For this amount, 35 such drones can be built.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- Back in January 2024, SSU Head Vasyl Malyuk said that in order to knock out all Russian missile carriers from the Ukrainian Black Sea, Ukraine was using two types of drones of its own production.

- Magura V5 naval surface drones have become a real nightmare for the Russian Navy. Since the beginning of their use, these drones have caused about $500 million in damage to enemy ships.
