"Nothing of the sort": Russia makes a new statement about talks with Ukraine and the goals of the "Special Military Operation"

The Kremlin has issued a statement expressing its unwillingness to engage in negotiations with Ukraine, asserting that the peace terms presented by Kyiv are "not up for discussion."

The statement was delivered by Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov in a commentary to propagandists. When questioned about the possibility of a ceasefire in 2024, the diplomat declared that Russia would achieve its goal of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine in the coming year.

"I don't just expect a ceasefire; I expect that the goals of the 'Special Military Operation' will certainly be achieved," stated the Russian government representative.

Ryabkov insisted that Moscow would not accept Kyiv's conditions. Simultaneously, he reiterated the propagandistic claim about Ukraine's "lack of independence." Supposedly, the United States can present its ideas to Russia "in any form" regarding negotiations and a truce, and they will be "listened to."

"But they should address Kyiv, not us. There is nothing to discuss with us on the terms that Ukraine has put forward," asserted the Russian Foreign Ministry official.

When pressed on negotiations and a potential ceasefire, he responded: "No, nothing of the sort is visible, but I can't imagine it at this stage... Unfortunately, the United States is at the head of a Western group that repeats the Zelenskyi peace formula like a mantra, saying that it is the only basis for agreements. But under such conditions, not only will no agreements be reached, but dialogue is impossible. Therefore, we are not ready to consider anything with the United States on this basis. They have to work with their 'wards'.

As OBOZ.UA wrote:

- Earlier, speaking at a cultural forum in St. Petersburg, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin made a cynical statement about the war with Ukraine. He absurdly claimed that in 2014 he could not have imagined that he would have to start a full-scale war against Ukraine.

- On November 22, Putin addressed the G20 summit online. He spoke about the situation in Israel and repeated the template rhetoric that falsely portrays Russia as willing to participate in negotiations to end the war in Ukraine.
