"No intact buildings at all": the last civilians were taken out of liberated Urozhaine
The last civilians (a family consisting of a man, a woman and their adult son) were evacuated from the village of Urozhaine in the Donetsk Region, the liberation of which was announced by the Defense Forces on August 16. Not a single intact building remained in the locality due to the attacks of the Russian occupants.
This was reported by the head of Velykonovosilkivka village military administration Serhiy Yashchenko in a commentary to "Suspilne". Thousand people lived in Urozhaine before the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia.
500 people remained there when the village was occupied by Russian troops in March 2022. They began to evacuate when active hostilities began.
A school, houses and a medical center in Urozhaine have been destroyed. As Yashchenko noted, the access to the village is closed.
It should be noted that the settlement is located to the south of Velyka Novosilka towards occupied Volnovakha and Mariupol.
The Defense Ministry said that the AFU had liberated Urozhaine and are consolidating on the achieved borders on the morning of August 16. According to Deputy Defense Minister Anna Maliar, the counter-offensive continues.
Soldiers of the 35th Independent Marine Brigade showed how they liberated Urozhaine together with their fellow Marines and other units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces. The occupants rushed away from the pressure of the defenders.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the authorities may decide to forcibly evacuate 388 children with their families from dangerous settlements under fire from the occupants in the Donetsk region. We are talking about towns in the Bakhmut and Kramatorsk districts.
