The United States of America has announced a new military aid package for Ukraine. The allies are providing our country with $400 million worth of weapons.

The package includes additional ammunition for the Patriot, NASAMS and HIMARS systems, as well as 23 Stryker armoured personnel carriers, the Pentagon said. It noted that the additional ammunition for air defence and artillery, armoured vehicles, anti-tank weapons and other equipment should "help Ukraine withstand Russia's ongoing war of aggression".

According to the Pentagon, the new aid package includes

- additional ammunition for the Patriot and NASAMS surface-to-air missile systems,

- Stinger anti-aircraft systems,

- additional ammunition for HIMARS,

- 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells,

- 120-mm and 60-mm mortar shells,

- 32 Stryker armoured personnel carriers,

- optically tracked and wire-guided missiles (TOW),

- Javelin and other anti-tank systems and missiles,

- Hornet UAVs,

- Hydra-70 air-to-air missiles,

- tactical air navigation systems,

- explosive munitions for overcoming obstacles,

- over 28 million rounds of ammunition for small arms and grenades,

- night vision devices and thermal imagers,

- spare parts, training ammunition and other field equipment.

"The United States will continue to work with its allies and partners to enable Ukraine to meet its immediate battlefield needs and long-term security assistance requirements," the Pentagon said.

As a reminder, the European Union will increase the production of ammunition and missiles for our country. The Ammunition Support Act (ASAP), which provides for this, came into force on 23 July.

Earlier it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine need long-range weapons to effectively destroy Russian coastal missile systems and ships. In particular, we are talking about long-range missile ATACMS.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, on 24 July, Spain sent Ukraine another batch of military aid. It included four Leopard 2A4 tanks, armoured vehicles, trucks and other vehicles.
