Maxar released new satellite images of the consequences of the occupiers' bombing of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant

Kherson Oblast suffers from flooding after the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant is blown up by the Russian occupants

Maxar Technologies showed new satellite images showing the scale of the disaster in Kherson Oblast as a result of the Kakhovka HPP being blown up by the Russian occupants. The company's satellites recorded the consequences of flooding over 2,500 square kilometers between Nova Kakhovka and Dniprovsky Bay, southwest of Kherson.

The published images show that almost all residential houses and buildings were submerged, entire settlements were flooded. Photo by Maxar Technologies was published by Guardian.

Satellite images provided to journalists by the company allow assessing the scale of the disaster in Kherson region.

"The images show houses and buildings submerged in water, with many showing only roofs and water flooding parks, land and infrastructure," the publication writes.

Maxar Technologies specified that their satellites covered an area of over 2,500 square kilometers between Nova Kakhovka and Dniprovsky Bay, southwest of the city of Kherson. This entire vast area was affected by the catastrophe arranged by Russia.

As a reminder, on the morning of June 6, it became known that the occupiers had blown up the Kakhovka hydroelectric plant, threatening up to 80 settlements with flooding .

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called the terrorist attack by Russia the largest man-made eco-catastrophe in Europe in decades, while Western leaders one after another called Russia responsible for the explosion of the Kakhovka HPP and noted that "terrorists do not stop if they are not stopped".

Evacuation was announced in the settlements of Kherson, which are in the flood zone. According to the UN, by the evening of June 6, 16,000 people had lost their homes.

Ukrhydroenergo predicted that the peak water is expected on June 7. Then there will be a stabilization of the water level. In 3-4 days the water will begin to recede. And on the 10th day the water will go to the Black Sea.

By the morning of May 7, the situation in the Kherson region remains difficult. As of 7:00 a.m., more than 1,400 people in the controlled part of the region had been evacuated. At the same time, in the midst of the evacuation from the Korabel district the previous day, the Russians fired on Kherson and wounded law enforcement officers .

But in the occupation there is no help waiting for them. They try to save themselves after spending the night on the roofs of houses.

For example, the village of Oleshki was flooded almost completely. Local residents who tried to escape said that the occupants prevented people from leaving the city and took away their cars.

At the same time, information emerged that Russian occupants were moving to the right bank of the Dnieper River under the guise of civilians being evacuated after the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP. Such information was made public by the Center for National Resistance.

Meanwhile, it became known that the US is already preparing new aid packages for Ukraine to overcome the consequences of the catastrophe arranged by Russia.
