Macron names the month that will be decisive for Ukraine

December 2023 will be a decisive month for the Ukrainian Defense Forces, French President Emmanuel Macron said. He noted that Ukrainian defenders are doing their best to liberate the territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Armed Forces.

Therefore, it is the duty of France and all Western countries to support Ukraine. The politician said this in an interview with the British TV channel BBC. The interview was published on November 11.

If Russia is allowed to win the war, "you will have a new imperial power" in Europe, Macron said. In this case, Russia will further threaten other post-Soviet states, including Georgia and Kazakhstan, as well as the entire continent.

"Because, of course, Russia is creating imperialism and colonialism [in Ukraine]," he said.

It is"not yet time" for Ukraine to sit down at the negotiating table, and the decision to do so should be made by Kyiv alone. At the same time, the French president believes that it may be time to "hold honest and good negotiations, return to the negotiating table and find a solution with Russia."

In the same interview, the French president called the events in the Gaza Strip a genocide of the civilian population. He advocates that Israel should wind down its military operation.
