Latvia will transfer another batch of cars confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine: what is known

Ukraine will receive another 14 cars from Latvia

Latvia will transfer 14 more cars confiscated from drunk drivers to Ukraine. The partner country will donate the vehicles free of charge to help prevent the consequences of the military emergency and support Ukrainian society.

This was reported by Delfi. It is noted that nine vehicles are intended for:

– army units of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine;

– a municipal medical enterprise in the Izium district of Kharkiv region;

– Arbuzyn village council in Mykolaiv region;

– a military unit of the National Guard;

– Kamianets-Podilskyi District Council of Khmelnytskyi Oblast;

– Kitaygorod village council of Khmelnytsky region.

The total preliminary market value of the nine vehicles to be transferred to Ukraine is 68,065 euros . Among them are the following brands: "Volvo XC60, Citroen C-Elysee, Volkswagen Multivan, Volkswagen Touran, Volkswagen Passat, and others. The transfer of vehicles is regulated by the Law of Latvia on Support of Civilians in Ukraine.

As a reminder, on January 16, Speaker of the Latvian Parliament Daiga Mierinā visited Kyiv for the first time. During the visit, the Speaker of the Latvian Parliament delivered a speech in the Verkhovna Rada, ending her speech with the words: "Glory to Ukraine!". She also held a number of meetings with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.

Earlier, Mierinās said that Russian aggression against Ukraine is a global threat, and the response to which should also be global.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

– On January 11, President Zelensky visited Latvia. In Riga, he was met by President Edgars Rinkēvičs, who later announced a new military aid package.

– In the "drone coalition" among the countries that provide military support to Ukraine to repel Russian aggression, Latvia is taking a leading role. This is one of the areas of cooperation under the memorandum of military cooperation.
