"Large-scale destruction": new video and details of the Russian attack on Odesa

Consequences of the enemy shelling of Odesa

On Wednesday evening, May 1, Russia launched a ballistic missile attack on Odesa. Recently, footage from inside the warehouses that were attacked by the occupation army yesterday was posted online.

The video from the incident was published on Radio Liberty's Telegram channel. The footage shows that the premises where the Agromarket company, which deals with plants, is based, have been completely destroyed.

"Unfortunately, the destruction is quite extensive. So far, it is difficult for us to estimate the damage to the company. Our company is engaged in the sale of planting material: seedlings, seeds, seedlings, flowers. Our product is definitely not a target that could attract the attention of the Russian Federation. But, unfortunately, if the Russians are already at war with flowers and seedlings, it's hard to comment on anything," said Oleksandr Demchenko, an employee of the company, about the shelling.

A sorting depot and a Nova Poshta office also came under attack. No one was killed or injured among the company's employees.

In total, 14 people sustained mostly minor injuries as a result of the attack, and one person was hospitalized.

A 32-year-old man who was hospitalized after the attack suffered 10 broken ribs and damaged eyesight. He was entering the warehouse when the attack occurred. He was injured by the blast wave and was hit by structural debris. The victim has now undergone surgery.

According to the State Emergency Service, the building of the fire station was also damaged as a result of the enemy shelling. The blast wave smashed out glass and partially damaged windows and the ceiling. At the time of the attack, the rescuers were in a shelter, and none of them were injured.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian occupiers attacked Odesa on the evening of Wednesday, May 1, using ballistic missiles. Two strong explosions occurred in Odesa around 22:00 during an air raid alert. The explosions were followed by a massive fire in a sorting depot and a Nova Poshta office.

As a reminder, the United States Ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Brink, commented on another missile attack by the Russian occupiers on Odesa. The diplomat emphasized that Ukraine is in dire need of additional air defense systems to protect the sky from Russian shelling.
