Krynky are almost completely destroyed, but Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to hold the line on the left bank of the Dnipro – Tavria Brigade
After months of fighting for the Ukrainian Defense Forces' bridgehead on the left bank of the Kherson region, the village of Krynky was almost destroyed. However, Ukrainian soldiers are continuing their operations in the occupied part of the region.
Ukrainian soldiers are performing combat missions and holding positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River, including near the village of Krynky. This was stated by Dmytro Lykhovii, a representative of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, in a commentary to Krym.Realii.
Lykhovii emphasized that the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to perform combat missions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region, including near the village of Krynky and on the islands in the area.
"The fact that the positions of Ukrainian forces in the village of Krynky were destroyed to the ground as a result of intense, prolonged enemy shelling and air strikes was also taken into account. The village itself is almost destroyed. There is no possibility to keep the defense there, no possibility to hold on to any fortifications, and therefore Ukrainian defenders are on other specific positions and bridgeheads, as well as on the left bank of the Dnipro," said Lykhovii.
According to him, in the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational group of troops, the Prydniprovskyi direction is "the hottest, but relatively speaking, there are enemy assaults there every day."
"There are relatively more of them compared to other sections of our combat line in our operational area, but these figures are measured in numbers of about three or four per day, sometimes two. Sometimes it can be about a dozen... This is a little less intense than before, but Russian attempts to advance to our footholds continue, but they remain unsuccessful," emphasized Likhovyi.
As a reminder, on July 12, the online premiere of the documentary "Krynky" took place. It tells the story of the soldiers who held a bridgehead on a small piece of the occupied left bank for many months. The film captures the "living testimonies of those who saw death and came back to life."
