"It's a real Vietnam": Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers tell about storming Russian trenches in Zaporizhzhia sector. Video

The chief sergeant of the Kvitochka company spoke about the truth in war

The chief sergeant of the Medoid company of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, paratrooper Oleksandr Morozov, nicknamed "Kvitochka", told us about what is really happening at the front without illusions or embellishments. His soldiers were conducting an assault in the Zaporizhzhia sector, and there he saw many deaths, lost friends, and went through the whole school of life at once.

The interview with Kvitochka was published by journalists of the Ukrainian Witness project. Before the war, Oleksandr was a successful businessman, but he took part in the ATO in 2015, and when the enemy launched a full-scale invasion, he immediately went to defend Ukraine (to watch the video, scroll to the end).

"In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the Russians knew where we would attack. We all studied with the same textbooks. It's a real Vietnam here: they are sitting in concrete trenches with holes in them," he said.

At the same time, the paratrooper has never regretted his decision to go to war rather than staying in the rear, making donations and posting patriotic pictures on social media. He is convinced that he is responsible not only for his own life and comfort, but also for the problems faced by Ukrainian society as a whole.

"This is my awareness of the extent of my responsibility. Yes, I lost my friends, but I won't help anything if I pray or anything. I'll just take a week's leave after the victory and go to the cemetery to visit my friends," the fighter says.

As for the timing of this victory, the master sergeant does not have a rosy view either. Oleksandr believes that Ukrainians should prepare for long-term scenarios, while at the same time using the time wisely to acquire new skills and knowledge.

"This is a full-scale war. It will last at least 1.5-2 years. It will be a meat grinder. Then, perhaps, the intensity will drop. In order to understand this, you need to study history and rely primarily on facts," the defence lawyer summed up.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL reported that the Defence Forces continue to liberate the south of the country from the Russian occupation army. Over the past week, the defenders liberated more than 12 square kilometres in this area.
