ISW: Ukrainian troops hit the majority of the planned targets in Belgorod
On the afternoon of December 30, a series of powerful explosions occurred in the Russian city of Belgorod. The occupiers traditionally reported that they had hit all targets, but in fact, many of the planned targets were hit.
Other cities were also under attack on the night of December 29-30. Then, in several regions of the aggressor country, military infrastructure and the military-industrial complex were hit. This is stated in the analysis of the Institute for War Studies.
According to analysts, Ukrainian troops conducted a large series of strikes on targets in Russia on the night of December 29-30 and during December 30. Previously, Ukrainian forces launched more than 70 drones at Russian military infrastructure and defense industry facilities in the Moscow region, Belgorod, Tula, Tver, and Bryansk.
Ukrainian security sources characterized the strikes as a response to Russia's December 29 strikes, which were the largest series of drone and missile attacks on Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion. In turn, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted 32 Ukrainian drones in Bryansk, Orel, Kursk, and Moscow regions.
The ISW emphasized that the difference between Russian and Ukrainian figures may indicate that Ukrainian forces hit most of the targets. In particular, the Kremniy El plant in Bryansk, which is the second-largest microelectronics manufacturer in Russia, was attacked. The company manufactures components for Russian military equipment.
The Russian Federation also said that on December 29, Russian air defense systems shot down 12 Ukrainian MLRS missiles in the Belgorod region and several more Ukrainian MLRS missiles near Belgorod during the day on December 30. The majority of the missiles were aimed at Russian military facilities near Belgorod and reportedly hit their targets.
As a reminder, dozens of explosions occurred in Belgorod on December 30. The Ukrainian Defense Forces attacked enemy military targets, and Russian air defense, trying to repel the attack, created a real hell for the city's residents. It was Russian air defense that caused the destruction in Belgorod and the loss of life.
After that, the aggressor country Russia convened an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council because of the shelling of Belgorod. The Russian Federation demanded that a representative of the Czech Republic attend the meeting, but the occupiers were put in their place.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, at the UN Security Council meeting on the shelling of Belgorod, the representative of the United States of America said that Russian President Vladimir Putin was responsible for such consequences of the war. It was the Russian dictator who made the choice to invade Ukraine.
By the way, Russian terrorists said that on the night of December 30, they allegedly repelled an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles in a number of regions. The invaders claimed that they had managed to destroy 32 drones with air defense forces. Residents of the terrorist country of the Russian Federation did not believe in the fairy tales of the Ministry of Defense about the "success" of air defense and exposed the occupiers in a lie.
