In Khmelnytskyi region, air defense systems were activated against drones: debris damaged warehouse buildings and a truck, with one person injured

On the morning of Thursday, November 16, explosions were heard in the Khmelnytskyi region during an air raid alert. The region, like the neighboring ones, was under the threat of enemy missile and drone attacks, and air defense was operating there.

The debris of the destroyed enemy target damaged the buildings of food warehouses and a truck, whose driver was injured. This was reported by the regional military administration.

The air alert was announced in the Khmelnytskyi region at 06:37 on Thursday, and it also spread to Vinnytsia and Chernivtsi regions. The military warned that the regions were at risk of a missile strike from the Russian Federation.

The explosions in the Khmelnytskyi region occurred around 07:40. The first deputy head of the JFO, Serhii Tiurin, pointed to the work of air defense forces.

"Starokostiantyniv, stay in shelters!" the Ukrainian Air Force later reported.

Later, the Khmelnytskyi Military District reported that as a result of the downing of one of the air targets, the debris damaged a truck, the driver of which sustained minor injuries.

In addition, on the territory of the food warehouses, the shrapnel damaged the roof covering, the windows of the workshop and a three-story building, and seven containers for storing vegetable oil.

"The damage is being established. I will keep you updated," said Tyurin.

Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the Joint Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, said that this morning the occupiers launched attack UAVs from the Black Sea in the direction of Kherson, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions, which also reached Vinnytsia and Khmelnytskyi regions. According to her, this is a fairly predictable route, as the enemy often uses it.

For his part, Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, noted that Russian troops had launched about 10 kamikaze drones into Ukraine. Air defense forces destroyed them on their way from the south to the western regions.

The Ukrainian Air Force emphasized that during the night and morning of Thursday, the defenders of the sky shot down 16 of the 18 Shaheds. The night before, an X-59 guided missile was also destroyed.
