Ihnat: photo of F-16 with Ukrainian insignia made Russians nervous
The day before, a photo of an F-16 fighter jet with Ukrainian insignia was posted online. According to Yuriy Ihnat, spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Command, this photo made the Russians nervous.
At the same time, he added that after arriving in Ukraine, F-16 fighters will become a desirable target for the occupiers. Ihnat spoke about this on the air of the national telethon.
The Air Force spokesperson emphasized that Ukraine, for its part, must do everything to ensure that the relevant infrastructure at the airfields is adapted to the F-16.
He also noted that preparing the infrastructure takes a long time. In addition, the fact that Ukraine is under Russian shelling every day adds to the problems.
"The infrastructure is being adapted, and pilots are being trained. You have seen our Phantom's interview, and he took an interesting photo with the signs. People are discussing whether they are real or not. Let's see, and we've already seen what the Russians say, let them get a little nervous," Ihnat said.

Earlier, it was reported that the US National Guard has enough money to complete the training of Ukrainian pilots to operate F-16 fighter jets. Additional funds will be needed if the program is expanded.
As a reminder, the Netherlands will send six more F-16 fighters to Ukraine in addition to the 18 aircraft that began to be prepared for delivery in December 2023. Thus, the Ukrainian army will soon receive the first 24 long-awaited aircraft from the Netherlands.
