The training centers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are actively teaching the military to fight enemy targets. We are talking about Shahed, Orlan, Lancet drones and even cruise missiles.

This was announced by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Pavliuk. He also posted a video.

According to him, small anti-aircraft guns are currently being used to counter enemy unmanned aerial vehicles.

"Small anti-aircraft guns are now at the forefront of countering enemy UAVs. Therefore, the military is being actively trained to use them to fight Shahed, Orlan, Lancet drones and even cruise missiles in the training centers of the Land Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," the report says.

Gepard and other more advanced Western-made small anti-aircraft artillery systems are frankly lacking. And the need for this type of weaponry is enormous.

The ZU-23-2 remains one of the most common means of countering these air threats. Moreover, despite its venerable age, the ZU-23-2 has its advantages. Therefore, the training centers of the Army continue to train operators of the good old guns.

Training begins with a simulator. With it, the military study the material part of the installation and master the principles of its operation without unnecessary ammunition consumption. With the help of this, you can develop at least intuitive skills, how to handle it, how the personnel will behave around it, how the gunner will behave.

But a gunner's accuracy is not the only key to success. This is a team game, in which the clarity and coherence of the actions of the entire squad is of great importance. The local instructors know this not from legends but from their own combat experience.

At the end of the training course, there is a mandatory live-fire exam. But even its successful completion is not a reason for many to stop but only a stage on the way to victory.
