Heavy fighting for Staromayorske in Donetsk region, but the Defense Forces have the upper hand: details

Fierce fighting continues for the village of Staromayorske in Donetsk region. On this section of the front the advantage is on the side of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

Ukrainian soldiers continue the offensive operation in Melitopol and Berdyansk directions. This was stated by a representative of the Joint Press Center of the Ukrainian Defense Forces of the Tavrian direction Major Valery Shershen.

According to him, the Ukrainian servicemen have an advantage in the battles for the village of Staromayorskoye. The defense forces are consolidating on the achieved boundaries, conducting aerial reconnaissance, measures to clear the terrain and measures of counter-battery warfare.

"In the zone of increased attention heavy fighting for the settlement of Staromayorske, south of Makarivka along the flow of the river Mokri Yaly - here the advantage is on our side," - said the speaker.

Hornet emphasized that the enemy losses for the day in the Tauride direction amounted to 330 people, including irrecoverable losses - 151 people.

Over the past day Ukrainian defenders destroyed 41 units of enemy weapons and military equipment. Among the destroyed equipment - 4 tanks, 12 armored vehicles, 10 artillery systems and mortars, 3 MLRS. Also, 14 ammunition depots of the enemy were destroyed.

During the course of the day, missile units of the Tauride direction defense forces struck 12 strikes against enemy artillery systems, firing points and field installations. Our artillery units carried out 1,680 firing missions, effectively destroying enemy manpower, firepower and command posts.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have made minor advances on the front over the past week. Continuing counter-offensives, they repulsed the attacks of the occupants in the south, where they began to save a little artillery shells.

Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian military as a result of offensive actions in the east and south for a week released almost 18 square kilometers of territories, taking prisoners and destroying a significant amount of weapons and equipment of the enemy. A total of 210.5 square kilometers of territory was liberated during the offensive.
