He buried the first one in occupied Kherson: a man lost his second wife as a result of a Russian strike on Kryvyi Rih. Photos and videos
One of the women killed by Russia today, January 17, in Kryvyi Rih, was killed in her car: she received fatal shrapnel wounds. Her husband, Ihor, said that he was widowed for the second time since Russia's full-scale invasion began.
His first wife died in 2022 in the then-occupied Kherson, leaving him with three children. This was reported by the local edition of "Svoi Kryvyi Rih."
"Ihor buried his wife in occupied Kherson. Today his second wife died in Kryvyi Rih. She was killed by debris in her car. His three children had a hard time surviving the death of their mother, and a few hours ago they lost another dear person," the statement reads.
The publication also published a fragment of Ihor's story. The man with a blood-stained face said that the news of his foster mother's death had stunned them.
"My eldest daughter lives here – she took them to her friends because they were hysterical, and when they saw their new dead mother, they just broke down. Just imagine, in 2022, they buried their own mother, and now they have to bury their stepmom," says Ihor.
According to the publication, the deceased woman's name was Oksana, she was 45 years old. The woman worked as a music teacher in one of Kryvyi Rih's gymnasiums.
At the time of Oksana's death, her husband was next to her in the car, but he managed to react, and she did not, taking on the deadly debris.
He also told us that it was his eldest son's birthday. And the family went to the market to buy something when Russian missiles flew into Kryvyi Rih.
As a reminder, Russian troops attacked Kryvyi Rih with ballistic missiles around noon. As a result of the attack, an educational institution and residential buildings were destroyed. As of 14:30, at least four people were reported dead: three women and a man. At least seven civilians were also injured, three of them in serious condition.
