"Good news, but not a sensation": Ukrainian Armed Forces comment on progress in Horlivka

On December 12, it became known that Ukrainian soldiers had repelled the occupiers' positions on a spoil tip within Horlivka, Donetsk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces noted that this was "good news, but not a sensation."

This success, as well as any advance of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, is the result of the hard work of the soldiers, said Volodymyr Fitio, head of the public relations service of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during a telethon.

He emphasized that Ukrainian troops are in active defense near Horlivka. At the same time, he answered the hosts' questions about the details of the liberation of the landfill within this city in Donetsk region, which has been occupied since 2014.

"The details are what we saw in the daily reports of the General Staff. We all saw perfectly well that south of Bakhmut, Ukrainian units continue their assault operations. Ukrainian defenders are in active defense," Fiteau said.

He added that Ukrainian soldiers use every good opportunity to improve their tactical position. Therefore, the repulsion of Russian positions on the spoil tip is "good news, but not a sensation."

"This is the hard, painstaking work of our defenders and, accordingly, at this stage it has brought such a result," Fitzhugh emphasized.

Earlier in the day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi showed a video of the soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces brigade that recaptured the spoil tip in Horlivka . The Ukrainian flag is now flying on it.

At the same time, the assault aircraft of the 24th King Danylo Brigade, which took part in the operation on the spoil tip, replenished the exchange fund. At least five occupants were captured there, which the soldiers showed on video.
