General Staff: the enemy is trying to advance almost along the entire front, while AFU is holding on and fighting back

The Russian occupation army is trying to advance in many parts of the frontline. The enemy is using its usual terror tactics, shelling numerous civilian objects in our country.

On December 2, 88 combat engagements took place at the frontline. This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of the morning of December 3.

During the day, Russian terrorists launched three missile and 22 air strikes, as well as fired at Ukrainian military positions and populated areas from multiple launch rocket systems 53 times.

The towns of Kozacha Lopan and Petropavlivka in the Kharkiv region and Avdiivka, Peremoha, and Shcherbynivka in the Donetsk region came under air attack. More than 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.

There are civilian casualties as a result of Russian war crimes. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure have been either destroyed or damaged.

The situation in the area of responsibility of the North operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Volyn and Polissia directions remains without significant changes.

The enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, conducting active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas and increasing the density of minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

Russian troops conducted assault operations on the outskirts of Synkivka, northeast of Petropavlivka, and Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Kupiansk direction. Defense forces repelled 7 enemy attacks.

The enemy conducted unsuccessful attacks in the area of Serebryanske forestry in the Luhansk region in the Lyman direction. Ukrainian troops repelled 4 enemy attacks in this sector.

Russian troops stormed the outskirts of Bohdanivka, Ivanivske, Andriivka, and Klishchiiivka in the Bakhmut direction, where Ukrainian troops repelled 21 enemy attacks. Defense forces continued assault operations south of Bakhmut, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy and consolidating the lines of defense.

Russian troops are trying to surround Avdiivka with the support of aviation in the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Avdiivka direction, but Ukrainian defenders are holding their positions and inflicting huge losses on the enemy. The enemy's offensive to the east of Novobakhmutivske, Stepove, Severne, south of Tonenke and Pervomaiske were also unsuccessful. The Defense Forces repelled 25 enemy attacks there.

The enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the area of Marinka and Novomykhailivka in the Marinka direction. Ukrainian defense forces repelled 11 enemy attacks in this sector.

Russian troops attempted to storm near Vuhledar and west of Staromaiorske in the Shakhtarsk direction. Ukrainian troops repelled three enemy attacks in the area.

The occupants tried to regain positions south of Robotyne and northwest of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia direction 12 times. At the same time, Ukrainian troops continued their offensive in the Melitopol sector, inflicting significant losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy.

Ukrainian defenders are holding positions on the left bank of the Kherson region in the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Kherson direction. Counter-battery fighting continues.

During the day, Ukrainian missile forces attacked two areas of concentration of enemy troops, weapons and military equipment. They also destroyed one command post, three ammunition depots, and four enemy artillery systems.

As a reminder, on the night of December 3, the air defense forces destroyed 10 out of 12 Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones in the sky. During the attack, the occupiers also used a missile, but it did not reach its target.

Earlier, it was reported that bad weather conditions continued to slow down the pace of fighting in Ukraine along the entire front line. However, the weather situation does not prevent both sides from using aircraft or artillery fire from time to time.
