General Staff: occupiers do not abandon attempts to encircle Avdiivka, Ukrainian soldiers hold positions on the left bank of the Dnipro and hit the enemy's rear

The occupants once again tried to encircle Avdiivka but failed. Meanwhile, the Defense Forces are holding their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River and conducting counter-battery combat in the Kherson direction.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 06.00 on November 24. 64 cases of military clashes took place on the frontline over the past day.

The enemy launched 2 missile strikes and 42 air attacks and fired more than 53 times from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and local settlements. These terrorist attacks resulted in loss of life and injuries among the civilian population. Private houses and other civilian infrastructure were either destroyed or damaged.

The enemy attacked Ukraine again at night, using 2 X-59 guided missiles and 3 Shahed-136/131 attack drones. All the attack drones were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense forces.

The airstrikes targeted the following settlements: Kostobobriv in the Chernihiv region; Oleksandriia in the Sumy region; Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Kupiansk, Kurylivka, Ivanivka in the Kharkiv region; Stelmakhivka, Serebryanske forestry in the Luhansk region; Spirne, Chasiv Yar, Bohdanivka, Klishchiivka, Toretsk, Avdiivka, Marinka, Novomykhailivka, Vodiane, Urozhaine in the Donetsk region.

More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro and Kherson regions were shelled with artillery.

The situation in the area of responsibility of the North operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Volyn and Polissia directions has not changed significantly.

The enemy continues to maintain a military presence in the border areas in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions, as well as actively conducts sabotage operations to prevent the movement of our troops to key areas and lays minefields along the state border in the Belgorod region.

Enemy forces conducted assault operations In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops in the vicinity of Synkivka in the Kupiansk direction with air support, where the Defense Forces repelled three attacks.

The enemy did not conduct any offensive operations in the Lyman direction.

The enemy tried to launch assault operations near Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region in the Bakhmut direction but our defenders repelled 11 attacks. Ukrainian forces continue their offensive south of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment, as well as holding their positions.

The enemy tried to surround Avdiivka in the area of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Avdiivka direction with the support of aviation but our soldiers are steadfastly defending and inflicting heavy losses on the enemy. The enemy's offensive actions east of Novokalynove, Avdiivka and Pervomaiske in the Donetsk region were unsuccessful, where the Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks.

Ukrainian troops repelled 14 enemy attacks in the areas of Marinka, Heorhiivka and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region in the Marinka direction.

The enemy made unsuccessful attempts to storm positions in the southwestern direction near Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region in the Shakhtarsk direction.

The enemy tried to attack west of Verbove in the Zaporizhzhia direction but was unsuccessful.

At the same time, Ukrainian forces continued their offensive in the Melitopol direction, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment, as well as depleting the enemy along the entire front.

The Odesa operational and strategic grouping of troops holds its positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson direction, conducting counter-battery combat and striking at the rear of the enemy forces.

The defense forces conducted air strikes on 11 areas where enemy troops were concentrated with personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Missile units struck at 3 areas where personnel, weapons and equipment were concentrated, and also destroyed a command post, an ammunition depot, an air defense facility and 4 enemy artillery pieces.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine's air defense forces repelled another Russian air attack with Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones on the night of November 24. The defenders shot down all three UAVs in the sky over different regions.
