General Staff: in the Bakhmut and Marinka directions all enemy attacks were repelled, the aviation launched 10 strikes against the enemy

On the four hundred and ninety-seventh day of Russia's large-scale armed aggression against Ukraine near Bakhmut and Marinka in the Donetsk Region, all enemy attacks were repelled. Ukrainian aviation launched 10 strikes against the Russian occupiers.

This is stated in the operational summary of the General Staff as of 18:00 on July 5. At night, the enemy struck five Iranian kamikaze "Shahed" UAVs.

"Two kamikaze drones were destroyed by our air defense. During the day, the enemy launched 48 air strikes and carried out 54 rocket launchers on our troops' positions and settlements, the probability of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high. The enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts in the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka directions, as about 30 military clashes took place there during the day," the report reads.

In the Volyn and Polissia directions the operational situation is without significant changes. No signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected. Certain units of the Belarusian Armed Forces perform tasks in the areas bordering Ukraine.

The enemy maintains a military presence in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions. Air strikes were carried out in the areas of Hrabovske, Sumy Region; Pletenivka, Kharkiv Region and the city of Kharkiv. Also during the day, the RF Armed Forces fired mortar and artillery at more than 35 settlements, in particular, Hirs'k, Tymonovychi in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Stukalivka in Sumy region and Kozacha Lopan, Zelene and Gatyshche in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupiansk direction the enemy does not give up attempts to advance near Novoselivske, Luhansk Oblast. But fortunately our soldiers steadfastly hold the line and repelled all the attacks of the enemy. At the same time the occupants carried out air strikes in the areas of Ivanivka and Kyslivka in Kharkov region. Artillery and mortar shelling by the enemy took place in Petro-Ivanivka, Fiholivka, Monachynivka, Husynka, Novomlynsk and Kyslivka areas of Kharkov region.

In the Lyman direction the enemy, while conducting offensive actions, tried to dislodge our troops from their positions in the area of Novoehorivka, Luhansk oblast. But this proved unsuccessful. Although the Russian Army then launched an air strike near Belohorivka, Luhansk Oblast. In total, artillery shelling hit more than 10 settlements, in particular Nevske, Belohorivka in Luhansk Region and Torske, Verkhnokamyanke and Razdolivka in Donetsk Region.

In the Bakhmut direction, our defenders successfully repulsed enemy attacks in the areas south of Berkhivka and Bohdanivka, Donetsk region. At the same time, they continue to conduct offensive actions to the south and north of the city and consolidate their positions. During this day, the enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Bohdanivka and Toretsk. More than 10 settlements were hit by enemy artillery fire, including Vasyukivka, Khromove, Oleksandro-Shultino and Pivdenne in the Donetsk Region.

In the Avdiivka direction, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the area of Avdiivka itself. The enemy continues to attempt to seize this territory and conducts air strikes in the Avdiivka and Nevelske areas. Thus, during the day on July 5, the enemy army carried out artillery attacks on more than 10 populated areas, in particular, Berdychi, Stepne, Avdiivka, Nevelske and Pervomaiske of the Donetsk region were affected.

In the Marinka direction, our defenders repelled all enemy attacks near the town of Marinka. But the enemy carried out air strikes near Krasnohorivka in Donetsk region and shelled more than 10 settlements, including Krasnohorivka, Hanivka, Marinka and Peremoha in Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtar direction, the occupants carried out air strikes in the areas of Zolota Nyva and Makarivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements were shelled, in particular Novomykhailivka, Uhledar, Novoukrainka and Prechystivka of Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions the enemy concentrates its main efforts to prevent the advance of our troops. The enemy carried out air strikes in the areas of Zmiivka and Antonivka, Kherson Oblast. More than 40 settlements were shelled, including Levadne, Olhivske, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Belohiria (Zaporizhzhia region); Tokarivka, Antonivka, Veletenske, Kizomys (Kherson region) and Kherson city.

"At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidate on the achieved lines, engage in artillery strikes on the identified enemy targets, implement counter-battery control measures," the General Staff noted.

In turn, units of missile troops and artillery during the day hit one area of concentration of manpower, weapons and military equipment, one control post, one ammunition composition, eight artillery weapons in firing positions, two air defense facilities, one radar station and three electronic warfare.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, over the past 24 hours, July 4, the Defense Forces of Ukraine "denationalized" another 670 military personnel of the army of the Russian terrorist state. Thus, the total losses of enemy troops for the entire period of full-scale war rose to 231,700 occupants.
