General Staff: AFU repelled enemy attacks near Bakhmut and Avdiivka and continue advancing in the south

The Ukrainian armed forces have repelled attacks by Russian occupants near Bakhmut and Avdiivka in Donetsk Region. At the same time, Ukrainian defenders continue their offensive in the south of our state.

This is stated in the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed forces of Ukraine as of July 26, 2023. There were 25 military clashes between Ukrainian defenders and Russian invaders in just one day.

The situation has not changed in the Volyn and Polisia directions, as no signs of offensive groupings formation have been detected so far.

The occupants maintain their military presence in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions. The enemy fired mortars and artillery at more than 20 settlements during the day, in particular Semenivka, Yasna Polyana in Chernihiv region; Vilna Sloboda, Stepne, Basivka, Mohrytsia, Pokrovka in Sumy region and Veterynarne, Strilka, Hlyboke, Kolodizne in Kharkiv region.

Ukrainian defenders hold the defense in the Kupiansk direction steadfastly. The occupants tried to advance south of Novoselivske in Luhansk region. At the same time, the enemy conducted artillery and mortar shelling of Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Tabaivka, Topolia villages in Kharkiv region.

The occupants unsuccessfully tried to advance in the area south of Dibrova in the Luhansk region in the Lyman direction during the day. The settlements of Nevske and Belohorivka in Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhnyokamianske and Spirne in Donetsk region were subjected to artillery shelling.

The Defense Forces successfully repelled all enemy attacks in the area north of Khromove, east of Druzhba and north of Klischiivka in the Bakhmut direction under heavy fire from the invaders' aviation and artillery.  At the same time, the enemy launched an air strike in the area of Klischiivka, Donetsk region. In addition, enemy artillery shelling affected more than 10 settlements, including Vasyukivka, Orikhiv-Vasylivka, Bohdanivka and Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region.

Ukraine's defenders successfully repelled attacks by Russian troops near the town of Avdiivka in the Avdiivka direction. At the same time, the invaders shelled more than 10 settlements with artillery, Novokalynove, Stepne, Avdiivka and Pivnichne in Donetsk region in particular.

The Defense Forces continue to hold back the offensive of Russian troops near the town of Marinka in the Marinka direction, However, enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka. Settlements of Kurakhivka, Krasnohorovka, Heorhiivka, Marinka and Peremoha in Donetsk region were also subjected to artillery shelling.

The invaders tried to attack in the area of Staromaiorsk in Donetsk region in the Shakhtar direction. The enemy launched air strikes near Blahodatne in Donetsk region and also shelled more than 10 settlements, including Uhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Nyva, Velyka Novosilka and Blahodatne in Donetsk region.

The enemy is concentrating its main efforts on preventing further advancement of our troops in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions. The enemy made air strikes in the areas of Novodanylivka, Mala Tokmachka, Piatykhatky in Zaporizhzhia region and Antonivka in Kherson region.

More than 30 localities were also subjected to artillery shelling, including Malynivka, Huliaipole, Stepne, Lobkove and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region; Dudchany, Beryslav, Kozatske, Molodizhne, Antonivka, Kizomys in Kherson region and Ivanivka in Mykolayiv region.

At the same time, the Ukrainian defenders continue conducting offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating on the achieved borders, as well as inflicting fire damage.

In addition, the aviation of the Defense Forces made 11 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the enemy, including 2 anti-aircraft missile systems during the day. Rocket and artillery units struck 9 artillery pieces at firing positions and 2 control points.
