The Ukrainian defenders continue their offensive operation in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, where they are consolidating on the achieved borders and implementing counter-battery measures. 20 military clashes took place on the front over the past 24 hours.

At the same time, the Russian invaders continue to use the civilian infrastructure of temporarily occupied settlements to provide medical care to their wounded. This is reported by the General Staff of the AFU in the morning report for August 17, the 540th day of the full-scale war.

The enemy launched eight missiles, 82 airstrikes and 76 multiple rocket launchers at the positions of our troops and populated areas the day before. As a result of these terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population, including children. The port infrastructure of the Odesa region, residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure in the Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Dnipro and Kherson regions were destroyed.

According to clarified information, Ukrainian air defense forces destroyed two X-35/X-59 cruise missiles and 16 Shahed-136/131 UAVs.

The operational situation is without significant changes in the Volyn and Polissia directions. The enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Krasna Zoria, Veterynarne, Kozacha Lopan, Hatyshche and Rohan in the Kharkiv region in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions. The enemy launched mortar and artillery attacks on more than 15 settlements, including Tymonovychi, Bleshnia in Chernihiv region; Turia, Stepok, Hrabovske in Sumy region; Vovchansk, Vovchanski Hutory, Okhrymivka, Potykhonovo, Chuhuivka in Kharkiv region.

The Russian Armed Forces carried out airstrikes near Kupiansk, Petropavlivka, Podoly, Tabaivka, Pisky-Radkivski, Cherneshchyna in the Kharkiv region and Nadiia in the Luhansk region in the Kupiansk direction. They conducted unsuccessful offensives in the Senkivka area of Kharkiv Oblast. They shelled Olshana, Petropavlivka and Cherneshchyna with artillery and mortars.

The occupants launched air strikes in the areas of Nevske, Belohorivka in the Luhansk region and Siversk in the Donetsk region in the Lymans direction. About 20 settlements were subjected to artillery fire from them, including Nevske, Dibrova, Belohorivka, Vyimka, Pereizne, Rozdolivka and Pazeno.

The Russian Army conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Bohdanivka in the Bakhmut direction. It carried out airstrikes near Ivanivka, Pryvillia, Mynkivka and Bila Hora and shelled more than 15 towns, including Andriivka, Bila Hora, Dyliivka and Pivdenne in the Donetsk region.

Our defenders continue to hold back the Russian troops' offensive in the Avdiivka direction under heavy enemy air and artillery fire. More than 10 towns, including Oleksandropol, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Tonenke, Pivdenne, Pervomaiske and Nevelske in the Donetsk region, were subjected to Russian artillery shelling.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the offensive of the Russian forces in the area of Marinka in the Marinka direction. The enemy launched air strikes on Krasnohorivka and Novomykhailivka and shelled Krasnohorovka, Marinka, Peremoha, Paraskoviivka and Vodiane in the Donetsk region among others.

The enemy launched airstrikes in the areas of Blahodatne, Urozhaine and Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region in the Shakhtarsk direction. More than 10 settlements, including Vodiane, Bohoiavlenka, Uhledar, Prechystivka, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne and Urozhaine, were subjected to shelling.

The occupants launched air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia direction. Enemy's artillery shelling affected more than 20 settlements, including Omelnyk, Novoandriivka, Kamianske and Lukianivske in the Zaporizhzhya direction.

More than 10 localities were subjected to enemy artillery shelling, including Kherson, Novodmytrivka, Mykolaivka, Sadove, Zelenivka, Berehove and Kizomys in the Kherson region in the Kherson direction.

Russian invaders continue to use the civilian infrastructure of temporarily occupied settlements to provide medical care to their wounded servicemen. Thus, they have arranged a field hospital on the territory of a house in Shevchenkivskyi in Zaporizhzhia, where more than 30 wounded occupants are being treated.

The aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment over the past day, one on the anti-aircraft missile complex. Our soldiers also destroyed eight reconnaissance UAVs of operational-tactical level. Missile troops and artillery units hit enemy SAMs.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine officially confirmed the liberation of Urozhaine in the Donetsk region. Our defenders are consolidating on the borders of the settlement.

At the same time, the military took the last civilians out of Urozhaine. After all, there is not a single untouched building there because of the attacks of the Russian occupiers.
