Fighting is taking place on the outskirts of Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region: the Armed Forces of Ukraine report on the situation. Map

Russian occupation troops have entered the outskirts of Novomykhailivka village (Marinka community, Pokrovsk district) in Donetsk region. The fighting continues, with Ukrainian defenders resisting the Russian army.

According to Dmytro Lykhovii, a spokesman for the Tauride Defense Forces, the fighting is taking place on the eastern outskirts of the village. He said this in a comment to LIGA.net on the morning of March 4.

The military noted that the number of enemy attacks in this area may be higher than in the Avdiivka area.

The enemy is using the tactics of small assault groups in the battle for Novomykhailivka. In addition, the Russian Armed Forces are conducting massive artillery and air strikes, and attacking with FPV drones.

It should be noted that in its March 3 report, the DeepState Telegram channel stated that the occupiers "increased pressure on Novomykhailivka and continue to gain a foothold in the ruins."

According to the 2001 census, the village of Novomykhailivka was home to 1,440 people. Almost all of them called Ukrainian their native language (92.91%).
