Air defense system activated in Kyiv, debris fell in four districts

On the morning of September 21, the Kremlin's terrorist army launched a new massive attack on Ukraine. During an air raid alert in Kyiv, air defense systems were activated, and debris fell in four districts of the capital. At least 7 people were injured.

This was reported in the Telegram of the Kyiv City Military Administration. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported an explosion in the Darnytsky district.

"All services are on the way. We also have a call to Holosiivskyi district," the mayor wrote.

He also said that in some neighborhoods of Svyatoshinsky district, electricity and water supply were cut off. Emergency services are working.

The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko informed that as a result of air defense work to shoot down enemy targets, debris fell in Holosiivsky and Darnytsky districts of the capital. Earlier, in Shevchenkivsky district, the debris damaged a gas pipe.

"All emergency services are on their way. Information on casualties and damage is being updated. Stay in shelters until the air raid alert is lifted," the Kyiv City Military Administration said in a statement.

According to Klitschko, there is no fire as a result of the fall of debris on a gas pipe in the Shevchenkivsky district. The gas service is on the spot. At the same time, non-residential buildings have been destroyed in Darnytsky district, and a fire has broken out there . Rescuers are working at the scene. There is currently no information about the victims.

"There are appeals to doctors," the mayor added, clarifying that there were no damages or injuries in the Holosiivsky district.

According to Klitschko, doctors also hospitalized an 18-year-old girl and a 9-year-old girl in the Darnytsia district of the capital. They were in a house next to an infrastructure facility where debris fell.

"As a result of enemy missiles, debris fell in Holosiivsky, Darnytsky, Shevchenkivsky and Desniansky districts. In the Shevchenkivsky district, a gas pipe was damaged, but it did not catch fire. In the Darnytsky district, debris damaged non-residential buildings and parked cars. There is a fire, emergency services are working. Information on casualties and damage is being clarified," Popko said.

According to the mayor, rescuers are extinguishing a fire at a service station in the Darnytsky district.

"Two cars are also on fire. Windows in a two-story building nearby are smashed," Klitschko wrote.

He also added that a vocational school was damaged as a result of the shelling. According to the mayor, the students were in a shelter, and no one was injured.

Later, Klitschko said that 7 people were injured in the Darnytsia district of Kyiv. Three of them (including a 9-year-old girl) were hospitalized, and four others were treated on the spot.

Also, according to the mayor, in Sviatoshynsky district, where there were power outages, power engineers restored electricity supply.

The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the Russians had previously fired cruise missiles of the X-101/555/55 type at Kyiv from about 10 Tu-95MS strategic aircraft. Over 20 enemy targets were destroyed by air defense forces and means over the capital.

"The alert in Kyiv lasted more than 2 hours. The capital has already crossed the mark of 1000 hours of alerts since the beginning of the full-scale invasion!" the Kyiv City Military Administration said.

Klitschko added that in the Holosiivsky district, in the part located in the center of the capital, windows in a 5-storey building were damaged. There were no damages or injuries.

In Darnytsia, according to the mayor, all services are still working at the site of the fall of debris on the territory of the infrastructure facility, as well as on the territory of the service station and the dormitory of the vocational education institution.
