Explosions and smoke rise in Odesa

On Friday afternoon, April 19, at least three explosions occurred in Odesa. Smoke is rising over the city.

The air alert in Odesa region was announced at 13:46. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed about the threat of ballistic missile attacks from the territory of occupied Crimea.

As of 13:49, an explosion was reported in the regional center, followed by a second one a minute later. According to eyewitnesses, fires broke out and a column of smoke rose over the city.

Odesa Mayor Gennadiy Trukhanov urged people to stay in shelters. At 14:09, another explosion was reported, and monitoring channels reported air defense operations and the downing of a reconnaissance drone.
