On the night of January 16, drones attacked the Tambov Powder Plant. Strong explosions were heard in the area of the military-industrial complex.
It is noteworthy that this is not the first time the Tambov Powder Plant has been attacked by a UAV. This was reported on Telegram by Andrii Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council.
According to him, the Tambov Powder Plant is one of the key facilities of the Russian military-industrial complex involved in the war against Ukraine. The company produces gunpowder used for various types of small arms, artillery, and rocket systems.
In addition, Kovalenko noted that the plant produces coloxylin, which is used to create explosives and other specialized products.
"The company is one of the main suppliers of explosives for the Russian army. Since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine, production at the plant has increased significantly," Kovalenko said.
Russian social media posted a video of explosions near the gunpowder plant. Meanwhile, the government of the Tambov region claimed to have repelled "another terrorist attack by a UAV."
According to Russian officials, the occupiers shot down three Ukrainian drones near the village of Kuzmino-Gat and the town of Kotovsk. Local authorities also claimed that the UAV debris partially damaged the roof of a private house.
As a reminder, on the evening of January 15, explosions occurred in the Voronezh region. Ukrainian drones attacked an oil depot in the town of Liski, a strong fire broke out there, and a fire was seen.
