Despite hostile attacks, no position has been surrendered: Humeniuk spoke about the situation on the left bank of the Kherson region

Occupiers are attempting to force the Armed Forces of Ukraine out of the occupied territories

Ukrainian troops are holding their positions on the left bank of the Kherson region. Despite enemy assaults, not a single position has been surrendered. Currently, the defenders are engaged in counter-battery fighting with the support of artillery, aerial reconnaissance, and attack drones, while the occupiers have concentrated several tens of thousands of manpower there.

This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, a spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel on the evening of December 13. According to her, the landing of the soldiers on the left bank of the Dnipro was a significant part of a large-scale combat operation.

"We realized that holding our positions and countering the enemy forces concentrated on the left bank would be a difficult and bloody job. However, the courage of our soldiers is to be admired. The positions are held, none of them have been surrendered, even though the enemy continues to storm the positions from time to time and try to drive us out of the occupied territories," said Humeniuk.

She added that the Defense Forces soldiers are engaged in counter-battery combat. Artillerymen provide serious support to the soldiers holding positions on the left bank. The use of aerial reconnaissance and strike UAVs is also effective, although in recent days the difficult weather has made adjustments to the combat work.

According to Natalia Humeniuk, the occupants have concentrated several tens of thousands of manpower, a large number of equipment, and weapons on the left bank of the Kherson region.

"In absolute terms, we are not yet able to cut off the logistics of the large hub of human and technical resources that they have created on the Crimean peninsula. Although it is significantly slowed down and damaged, and the supply cannot be maintained on a regular basis, it directly affects the morale and psychological state of the personnel. There are constant internecine clashes, showdowns about who is more heroic, and it is challenging for all of them to stay focused," the spokeswoman said.

Humeniuk also added that the bulk of the invaders are now trying to gain a foothold on the "second line of defense" where there are reinforced concrete structures. In fact, Ukrainian soldiers neutralize a lot of enemy personnel every day.

"Over the last few days, it was 11, 14, 12 servicemen. This is the data we can confirm. We are also able to destroy tanks, armored vehicles, armored airborne, and infantry vehicles. However, lately, we have seen that the enemy has been saving a lot on equipment. If they are going to assault, they are going to do it on foot," said the spokeswoman for the Southern Defense Forces.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, according to the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian defenders are holding positions on the left bank of the Kherson region and inflicting fire on the enemy. During the day, Ivanivka, Novodmitrivka, and Oleksandrivka came under enemy artillery fire.
