Defense forces hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro river and strike at the enemy's rear - General Staff
The Russian occupation army continues to use its inherent tactics of terror and strikes at numerous civilian objects in our country. The enemy is firing at civilians from multiple launch rocket systems and aircraft.
On November 19, 46 combat engagements took place at the frontline. Russian troops continue to attack in the east, trying to seize new territories, while the Ukrainian Defense Forces hold their positions on the left bank of the Kherson region. This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of the morning of November 20.
The Russian occupiers have launched another air strike on Ukraine, using Shahed-136/131 attack drones. As a result of combat operations, air defense forces destroyed 15 out of 20 UAVs. The enemy also launched 1 missile and 17 air strikes, fired 94 times from multiple rocket launchers at the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Private homes and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed and damaged.
Petropavlivka, Kharkiv region; Serebryanske forestry, Luhansk region; and Yampolivka, Donetsk region were hit by air strikes. More than 100 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
In the area of responsibility of the "North" operational and strategic grouping of troops on the Volyn and Polissya directions, the operational situation remains without significant changes.
On the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts active sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in Belgorod region.
In the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Kupyansk sector, the enemy conducted assault operations in the vicinity of Sinkivka, east of Petropavlivka and Ivanivka in Kharkiv region, where the Defense Forces repelled 7 attacks.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) actions.
In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted assault operations in the areas of Klishchiyivka and Andriivka, Donetsk region, where our defenders repelled 11 attacks. Ukrainian defense forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the enemy, and consolidating their positions.

In the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops in the Avdiivka sector, the occupants are making no attempts to encircle Avdiivka. Our soldiers are steadfastly holding the line, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. The enemy's offensive east of Novokalynove, Novobakhmutivka, Severne and Avdiivka in Donetsk region was unsuccessful, where the Defense Forces repelled 12 attacks.
In the Maryinka sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful assault operations in the areas of Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Pobeda in the Donetsk region, where Ukrainian troops repelled 16 attacks.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the invaders conducted an assault near Staromayorsk, Donetsk region, but were unsuccessful.
In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the enemy did not conduct any offensive (assault) operations.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol sector, inflicting losses in manpower and equipment on the occupation forces, and depleting the enemy along the entire front line.
In the area of responsibility of the Odesa operational and strategic grouping of troops in the Kherson sector, the Defense Forces hold their positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, continue to conduct counter-battery combat, and inflict fire on the enemy's rear.
During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 2 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel. Rocket troops hit 2 areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as 3 ammunition depots.

As a reminder, the Ukrainian Defense Forces and the Russian occupation forces continue fighting on the eastern and southern frontlines despite the rainy weather. However, it is likely that the pace of hostilities on both sides will slow down until winter conditions fully set it.
Earlier it was reported that over the past two weeks, Ukrainian defenders have hit at least 20 important Russian army facilities in the temporarily occupied territories of our country. In particular, 16 enemy bases and headquarters and six of their weapons depots were destroyed.
