Defense Forces courageously defend Ukraine: the General Staff reported on the areas where they repelled the occupants' attacks

The defense forces continue to bravely defend Ukraine. Since the beginning of the day, 148 combat engagements have taken place in all sectors.

This is stated in the General Staff's report as of 22:00 on September 8. The Pokrovsk sector remains the hottest.

Since the beginning of the day, the occupiers have carried out 60 air strikes using 79 combat aircraft, 473 strikes by kamikaze drones and fired 2768 times at the positions of our troops and settlements using various types of weapons.

The General Staff also praised the soldiers of the 54th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Ivan Mazepa for their effective combat work.

Situation at the front

In the Kharkiv sector, the invaders made three attacks near Vovchansk during the day. Ukrainian Defense Forces units successfully repelled two of the enemy's assaults, and another firefight is ongoing. According to preliminary information, since the beginning of the day, enemy losses amounted to 59 occupants killed and wounded, two vehicles and four units of special equipment, 37 UAVs destroyed, and two artillery systems, a tank, and three enemy armored combat vehicles damaged.

Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 13 enemy attacks in the Kupyansk sector.

The enemy attacked 12 times in the Lyman sector, trying to advance towards Nevske, Novosadove, Torske, Dibrova and Cherneshchyna, and two firefights are currently underway.

In the Siversky sector, our troops repelled five enemy assaults in the areas of Verkhnekamianske, Spirne and Hryhorivka. Currently, fighting is still ongoing in three locations.

Eight combat engagements took place in the Kramatorsk sector. Occupants were active in the area of Andriivka, Mayske, Chasovyi Yar, Bila Hora, Predtechyn and Klishchiyivka. Seven of the enemy's attempts to push our units back proved to be in vain, and one attack is ongoing. The situation is under control.

With the support of aviation, the enemy tried to break into our defense in the Toretsk sector 17 times. During the day, the occupants attacked the positions of Ukrainian defenders near the settlements of Pivnichne, Zalizne and Nyzhnyk, Toretsk, Nelipivka and Druzhba. Our defenders repelled 13 attacks, four attacks are still ongoing.

In the Pokrovsk sector, 29 enemy offensives and assaults have been repelled since the beginning of the day in the areas of Zelene Pole, Vozdvyzhenka, Novotroitske, Hrodivka, Novohrodivka, Selidove, Marynivka and Mykhailivka. Another seven combat engagements are ongoing. Our troops are taking measures to hold the designated lines.

According to preliminary data, the enemy lost 314 occupants killed and wounded, one was taken prisoner, and Ukrainian troops destroyed ten vehicles and one UAV. In addition, two howitzers, two tanks, one vehicle and one mortar were destroyed.

There are 25 combat engagements in the Kurakhove sector as of this time of day. Militants remain active. The Defense Forces repelled 20 attacks, five attacks are still ongoing.

In the Vremivsk sector, two firefights took place in the direction of Vodiane.

In the Orikhiv sector, our troops repelled two enemy attacks near Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne, the enemy was not successful.

Earlier it was reported that only during the last day, September 7, in the south of Ukraine, the Russian occupiers suffered losses in equipment and personnel. In particular, the Defense Forces eliminated 70 invaders and 32 units of weapons and military equipment.

Earlier, Captain Dmytro Lykhoviy, spokesman for the Tavria operational group of troops, said that in southern Ukraine, the occupation forces of the Russian aggressor country had resumed the intensity of assaults and the number of artillery attacks. Ukrainian soldiers, in turn, are actively defending themselves and are having some success, including regaining some positions.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, an officer of the Armed Forces reserve, military expert Andriy Kramarov said that the group of Russian occupation forces in southern Ukraine has serious problems with logistics and supplies. However, it is not easy for the Defense Forces to launch an operation to liberate the territories, for several reasons.
