Ukrainian defenders destroyed a Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system. The elimination of the Russian combat vehicle took place near Donetsk.
This was reported by the Telegram channel "Dossier of a Spy". The anti-aircraft missile and gun system was on a mission to provide air cover for an airfield in the Donetsk region (to see the photo, scroll down to the end of the news).
"Here is a photo of the destroyed Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system. The combat vehicle was performing an air cover mission for an airfield in the Donetsk region," the statement said.
According to the source, the strike was carried out using HIMARS MLRS.
It was also noted that the entire crew of the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile and gun system was killed.
It happened 20 km south of Donetsk.
"The air defence system was unable to cope with the projectile it was designed to counter. It's ironic," the source added.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Ukrainian artillerymen fighting in the Bakhmut sector destroyed the Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft gun system, which was touted by the Russians. Another "one-of-a-kind" system, which the occupiers install on the roofs of buildings in Moscow, was turned into scrap metal by our defenders in the epicentre of the fighting in eastern Ukraine.
