"China's position is consistent": Xi Jinping makes statement on war in Ukraine at meeting with Putin

At a meeting with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for a political settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Following the Kremlin's propaganda, he called the invasion and armed aggression of the Russian Federation the "Ukrainian crisis."

In his address, the Chinese president said that the issue of war must be resolved following the norms and principles of the UN Charter. A fragment of Xi Jinping's statement was published by Russian propaganda media.

According to him, in today's world, all bloc confrontation and power politics directly threaten the security of all countries. Xi also added that China intends to continue to advocate for a political settlement of conflicts.

"Promote political settlement of hotspot issues for the sake of truth and justice. The Cold War mentality is still rampant in today's world. Unilateral hegemony, bloc confrontation, and power politics directly threaten world peace and the security of all countries," Xi Jinping said.

At his meeting with Putin, the Chinese president called for respect for the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.

"China and Russia perceive a political settlement as the right way to resolve the Ukrainian crisis. China's position on this issue is consistent and clear, namely: adherence to the norms and principles of the UN charters, respect for the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, their rational concern for the formation and sustainable security architecture," Xi Jinping said.

Earlier it was reported that China is ready to support an international peace conference only if the terrorist country Russia takes part in it. According to Chinese President Xi Jinping, both Kyiv and Moscow should be on "equal footing" at the upcoming summit.

As a reminder, Chinese President Xi Jinping came to Europe for the first time in five years and surprised by the choice of countries to visit.
