Captain involved in ballistic missile attacks on Ukraine dies in Russia: he was responsible for the deaths of 59 Ukrainians in the village of Hroza
A war criminal, battery commander of the 112th Missile Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces, Konstantin Nagayko, has died in Russia. He sustained multiple injuries in an explosion in the Ivanovo region in early January.
Nahayko was directly involved in Russian ballistic missile strikes on Ukraine, in particular in the Russian attack on the village of Hroza in Kharkiv region, which killed 59 Ukrainian civilians. The death of the criminal was reported by the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.
"Captain Konstantin Nagayko, involved in war crimes against Ukraine, died in Russia. The occupier is responsible for organizing ballistic missile attacks on the civilian and military infrastructure of Sumy and Kharkiv regions of Ukraine using Iskander tactical missile systems.
The DIU reminded that the criminal received multiple injuries on January 3 – during an explosion in the village of Shuya, Ivanovo region, where he was serving. Russian medics tried to save the occupant's life, he underwent a number of operations, including skull trepanation, but all efforts were in vain: the invader did not live to see his 30th birthday.
"The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine reminds that every war crime against the Ukrainian people will be punished with fair retribution!" the military intelligence of Ukraine emphasized.
It will be recalled that on October 5, 2023, at about 13:15, Russia launched a missile attack on the village of Hroza, Kupiansk district, Kharkiv region. The villagers gathered in a local cafe to commemorate a fellow countryman who died in Luhansk region and was reburied in his small homeland.
The search operations ended after 10 p.m. on the same day. The enemy strike ended the lives of 59 Ukrainian civilians – every sixth resident of the village.
Among the victims is the family of a Ukrainian soldier who was being commemorated in the cafe at the time of the attack. His son was also a soldier.
Later it became known that the Russian missile was launched at the village by brothers Dmytro and Volodymyr Mamon: the collaborators' family was close friends with the family of the fallen soldier Andrii Kozyr, and one of the brothers was a childhood friend of the hero's son Denys.
