In Zaporizhzhia, rescuers freed two women from under the rubble of a destroyed building who managed to call the 101 line. They had been there for more than seven hours.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Zaporizhzhia. Emergency workers noted that rescue operations in the city are still ongoing.
"During the search and rescue operation, the Rescue Service 101 line received a call from two women who reported that they were under the rubble of a destroyed building. During the conversation, the rescuers showed professionalism and clarified the details to determine their exact location," the statement said.
Special equipment was used to free the women from the concrete trap.
"The women were trapped under the rubble for more than seven hours. Thanks to the coordinated work of the rescuers, they were freed and handed over to medics," the SES said.
Paramedics arrived at the scene with the rescuers and waited for the women to be pulled out of the rubble. The doctors immediately examined the victims and then hospitalized them.
The State Emergency Service noted that four people were rescued that day. The operation continues.
At this time, four people are known to have died as a result of the Russia's attack on a private clinic in Zaporizhzhia.
21 people were injured, including one child. One victim died in the hospital.
