By supporting Ukraine, we demonstrate our strength to the world - Biden

The United States and France support Ukraine in its fight against the aggression of the Russian Federation. In this way, these countries demonstrate to the world the strength of its allies.

This statement was made by US President Joe Biden. He said this on Saturday during a joint speech with French President Emmanuel Macron after the French-American talks.

"This week, we have once again demonstrated to the world the power of allies, what we can achieve when we act together. This is what the relationship between France and the United States illustrates. We see this in Ukraine: our two countries support the Ukrainian people as they fight Putin's brutal aggression," the American leader said.

Biden reminded that he had announced new security assistance to Ukraine worth $225 million the day before. This is the sixth aid package provided by the United States since the adoption of the National Security Act earlier this year.

"I wish we could have done this six months earlier, but we have achieved this by providing Ukraine with an additional $61 billion in assistance," he said.

The U.S. President thanked France and European allies for their leadership in supporting Ukraine, noting that the EU has provided more than $107 billion since the beginning of the full-scale war.

"We know what would happen if Putin succeeded in conquering Ukraine. Putin will not stop at Ukraine. It's not just about Ukraine, it's about much more than Ukraine. The whole of Europe is under threat. We will not allow this to happen. The United States stands with Ukraine," he said.

As a reminder, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken assured that Ukraine would receive strong support at the NATO summit in Washington. This will contribute to the Euro-Atlantic integration of our country.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that there are currently two countries that are skeptical about Ukraine's prospects for NATO membership. According to him, these countries are afraid of some kind of escalation from Russia.
