Bulgaria sends 100 APCs to Ukraine: a third country agreed to pay for the delivery. Photo
One hundred armored personnel carriers, which Bulgaria donated to Ukraine by the decision of the National Assembly, are already being transported to Ukraine. This was stated by Defense Minister Todor Tagarev, who released the relevant photos.
This was reported by the BGNEWS agency. Journalists remind that at the end of November 2023, MPs adopted a bill to ratify the Agreement between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on the free provision of armored vehicles. 152 MPs voted in favor, while 57 voted against.
The agreement was concluded to implement the decision to provide additional military and technical support to Ukraine. According to the agreement, the Ukrainian side will be provided with armored vehicles with existing weapons, as well as spare parts for its maintenance, which are no longer needed for the needs of the Bulgarian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Only a few days ago, Defense Minister Todor Tagarev commented that the tanks are still in their country because their transportation to Ukraine would be quite expensive for the state budget.
"The three ministries are working together. It's already clear who will load them where and where they will go. This is a very serious logistical operation," he said, adding that the ministry would, however, seek to have the transportation financed by one of the countries participating in the Contact Group on Ukraine's defense (the so-called Ramstein format).
