The war in Ukraine will end this year, as the aggressor country Russia needs a break to build up its forces. In particular, the Russian Federation is paying a heavy price for the fighting.
This opinion was expressed by the Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov in a commentary to OBOZ.UA at the forum "Ukraine. Year 2025" forum. Our correspondent is working at the event.
"I believe (in the end of the war - Ed.). We heard from several speakers who were there that at least the Russian Federation needs a break. It lacks strength. This is one of the reasons. The second is the high financial cost for the Russian Federation," Budanov emphasized.
When asked when this could happen, he replied: when all parties are ready for it and agree on a joint plan.
As a reminder, according to Kyrylo Budanov, Russia may soon launch a massive strike against Ukraine, as the enemy's strategic bombers are "already loaded." However, he did not specify when exactly this would happen.
As OBOZ.UA reported, on February 23, the aggressor country used 267 drones of various types against Ukraine. It was the largest attack since Iranian kamikaze drones began hitting Ukrainian cities and villages. According to Zelensky, Ukrainians are confronting Russian aerial terror every day.
