Atypical occupiers' activity was recorded in the Black Sea: the enemy deployed 20 warships – Nataliia Humeniuk

Atypical activity of Russian Navy ships was recorded in the Black Sea

Ukraine's defenders have recorded atypical activity of the Russian occupiers in the Black Sea. The enemy has deployed 20 warships and a large number of auxiliary fleet units there.

Among them are several missile carriers that can be equipped with dozens of Kalibr cruise missiles. The Head of the United Coordinating Press Center of Security and Defense Forces of South of Ukraine, Nataliia Humeniuk, stated this during the "United News" telethon on March 16.

"We are closely monitoring the naval grouping in the Black Sea and the enemy's actions. We have recorded atypical activity and the number of its ship group. Currently, there are 20 units in the Black Sea, including four missile launchers," she explained.

According to her, one of the Russian missile carriers is an underwater one. According to maximum estimates, the enemy could equip 28 missiles for launch.

In addition, Humeniuk added, many units of the Russian auxiliary fleet were spotted in the sea. All the ships are scattered, so it is possible that in this way the occupiers want to find the wreckage of the American MQ-9 Reaper drone, which was sunk in the Black Sea due to an incident with Russian fighters on March 14.

A representative of the Operational Command "South" emphasized that the aggressor is trying to "cover the theater of naval operations in the Black Sea as much as possible and hide their maneuvers" from Ukrainian defenders.

"However, careful observation of them gives its results - the defenders see and understand the enemy's steps in advance," Nataliia Humeniuk assured.

As OBOZREVATEL reported, on March 14, a Russian fighter jet collided with a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone over the Black Sea and damaged its propeller. In response, the Americans were forced to sink their UAV at sea, as well as remotely destroy confidential data from the MQ-9.

The United States has said it will investigate the Reaper UAV incident. The Pentagon called the behavior of the Russian Federation "dangerous".

The U.S. Army's MQ-9 Reaper reconnaissance and strike drone has enhanced capabilities. These are the UAVs that Ukraine can get from General Atomics, the company that produces Reapers.
