"Artillery Coalition" to support Ukraine to be launched in January: what is happening

Our country's Western partners have created another coalition to support Ukraine - this time, an artillery coalition. It will begin its work in January 2024 in Paris, and its main task is to strengthen the firepower of the Ukrainian army.

In particular, work is planned to implement Caesar fire control using artificial intelligence. The details were disclosed by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk said during a meeting with a delegation from the French Senate that the Artillery Coalition to strengthen the Ukrainian army will begin work in January 2024 in Paris.

According to Havryliuk, it is extremely important for Ukraine to strengthen its firepower through the supply of artillery systems by allies, in particular, Caesar self-propelled artillery systems.

"The Caesar self-propelled artillery systems demonstrated high efficiency and accuracy in combat," the official stated.

The Ministry of Defense also announced that a test of Caesar fire control using artificial intelligence is planned for 2024. This is expected to reduce the use of ammunition for target acquisition and engagement by 30%.

Havryliuk also called on French MPs to assist in increasing the amount of ammunition for the Caesar.

On December 13, the first conference of the coalition to strengthen Ukraine's air defense was held in Berlin. 22 countries took part in it. The Coalition for Integrated Air and Missile Defense was led by Germany and France.

It was also reported that in December, the UK and Norway created a "maritime coalition" and will provide Ukraine with the first ships.
