"Almost everything has been destroyed, the enemy is advancing": RMA told about the situation in Donetsk region

In the Donetsk region, the occupants of the Russian army are making some progress, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces are making every effort to contain the enemy. There is not a single settlement left along the contact line.

This was stated by the head of the Donetsk regional military administration Vadym Filashkin during a telethon. According to him, over the past day, Russian troops fired 2500 times at Donetsk region.

Three people were wounded as a result of these attacks, the head of the RMA said.

The occupants are destroying almost everything:

"Along the front line, not a single settlement and not a single critical infrastructure facility, private municipal property has been destroyed, almost everything has been destroyed. Unfortunately, there are some advances, but our Defense Forces are doing everything possible and impossible to deter the occupier," said Filashkin.

The head of Donetsk region added that all authorities are currently working in the region, including the police and units of the State Emergency Service.

"We are working, evacuating people and helping our people," he said.

According to the RMA, 3,000 people remain in frontline Myrnohrad, 300 in Chasovyi Yar, about 600-620 in Toretsk and about 600-650 in Kurakhove.

It is almost impossible to bring humanitarian aid there because the enemy is shelling all access roads.

Defense forces are evacuating people, but these are isolated cases.

"All the people who wanted to leave these cities have left," said the head of the JFO.

At the same time, Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Yevhen Ievlev said that the battle for Pokrovsk may begin soon, but that the preparation of the Defense Forces is much better than before.

"Unfortunately, everything is heading towards that (fighting for Pokrovsk - Ed.). I really hope that what I see with my own eyes, and I hope that there are things I don't see, will allow us to hold Pokrovsk and other settlements as long as possible," the military said.

The defender added that the soldiers and their command have done serious work on the mistakes in the defense.

"What I see around Myrnohrad and Pokrovsk, the defense preparations are many times better than they were before," said Ievlev.

In particular, the construction of fortifications has been largely taken over by the presidential vertical of power. Military administrations are in charge of this.

"What happened a year ago and what is happening now are completely different in terms of quality. There is no need to combine infantry surpluses or shortages and the construction of fortifications into one complex. Unfortunately, everyone knows that there are not too many infantry, there is even a certain deficit," Ievlev added.

According to him, the better and more defensive structures are built, the easier it is to hold back the enemy in case of infantry shortage.

"Whether it's in a hand-dug dug-in dugout in a landing, or in prepared lines, where there is plenty of concrete and wood, and deeply buried and on the right lines, it's a matter of experience. Therefore, I will frankly say that in this regard I have positive expectations that we will still be able to hold the enemy on the outskirts of Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad and all other cities and every square meter of Ukraine," the military said.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Reuters said that the army of the aggressor country, the Russian Federation, increased the pace of the offensive in Ukraine and captured almost 235 square kilometers in a week. This is a weekly record for 2024 and the largest enemy breakthrough since the beginning of a full-scale war, the agency stated.
